To remove |
1. |
Ignition in OFF position. Remove the negative cable on the battery.

Remove the plug over the screws and remove the screws securing the airbag, 2 pcs.
|
3. |
Lift out the airbag and unplug the connector.
|
4. |
Unplug the horn connector.
|
5. |
Position the wheels in the straight forward position.
|
6. |
Remove the nut and lift off the steering wheel.
|
7. |
Remove the upper and lower steering column covers, 3 screws.
|
8. |
Remove the screws securing the contact roller, 2 pcs.
|
9. |
Unplug the connectors and lift off the contact roller.

To fit |
1. |
Open the transport lock on the contact roller.
|
2. |
Fit the contact roller in place and plug in the connector.
|
3. |
Tighten the screws securing the contact roller, 2 pcs.
|
4. |
Fit the upper and lower steering column cover, 3 screws.
|
5. |
Set the contact roller centre position as follows:

Check that the wheels are pointed straight forward.
|
5.b. |
Turn the contact roller
clockwise
to its end position.

5.c. |
Turn the contact roller back 2.5 turns.

6. |
Place the steering wheel in position and tighten the steering wheel nut.
Tightening torque: 39 Nm (28.8 lbf ft) |
7. |
Plug in the horn connector.

8. |
Connect the airbag connector to the airbag.
|
9. |
Tighten the screws securing the airbag and then fit the plugs over the screws.
|
10. |
Connect the negative cable on the battery and turn on the ignition.
