The compressor's high-pressure hose

The compressor's high-pressure hose

To remove

Important

Both the receiver and the compressor oil absorb moisture from the air which cannot be removed. All connections which are opened should therefore be plugged immediately.

1. Drain the AC system of refrigerant.

2. Remove the grille and the left-hand headlamp.

3. Remove the screw securing the high-pressure pipe to the compressor.

4. Plug the openings.

5. Cars with a turbo engine:

5.a. Remove the hose between the charge air cooler and the throttle body.

5.b. Remove the hose between the charge air cooler and the turbo unit.

6. Remove the high-pressure pipe from the clip on the front cross-member.

7. Remove the bolt from the PAD connection adjacent to the receiver.

8. Remove the compressor's high-pressure pipe and plug the openings.

9. Lift up the high-pressure pipe.

To fit

1. Fit the high-pressure pipe in place.

2. Lubricate new O-rings with synthetic vaseline and fit them on the pipes at the receiver's PAD connection.

3. Remove the plug from the receiver and fit the high-pressure pipe in place.

4. Tighten the bolt in the PAD connection.

Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.6 lbf ft)

5. Lubricate a new O-ring with synthetic vaseline and fit it on the high-pressure pipe at the compressor end.

6. Fit the high-pressure pipe in place in the compressor and tighten the bolt.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (14.8 lbf ft)

7. Press the high-pressure hose in the clip on the front cross-member.

8. Cars with a turbo engine:

8.a. Fit the hose between the charge air cooler and the turbo unit and tighten the hose clips.

8.b. Fit the hose between the charge air cooler and the throttle body and tighten the hose clips.

9. Fill up with compressor oil, carry out vacuum pumping of the AC system and fill up with refrigerant.

10. Refit the left-hand headlamp.

11. Refit the grille.
