Microswitch pins 1 and 3 are connected to common power outputs on the control module. The control module puts out one voltage on pin 1 and another on pin 3. When the microswitch is operated (activated), the contact arm on the switch makes contact with pin 3 and when the microswitch is not operated (inactive), it makes contact with pin 1.
The microswitches are each connected to an input to the control module via pin 2. By measuring the voltage on pin 2, the control module can determine whether or not the microswitch has been operated.
If the position of the microswitch does not correspond to the position detected by the potentiometer, the TSAS control module sends a message to SID, which sounds an acoustic signal and displays an error message.
