Replacement of front door locks

Replacement of front door locks


To remove


1. Open the door (window closed).

2. Remove the door trim. See Service Manual 8:2 "Interior equipment" .

3. Remove the water barrier.

4. Detach the pull bar (between the door handle and door lock) from the lock.

Note

If you wear gloves you can easily undo the clips on the bars.


5. Remove the bottom edge of the rear guide channel.

6. Detach the pull bar (between the lock cylinder and lock) from the lock.

7. Remove the three screws securing the door lock.

8. Remove the door lock complete with internal lock mechanism and central locking system motor.

9. Unplug the connector for the central locking system motor.

10. Remove the central locking system motor from the door lock (secured by means of two Phillips screws).


To fit



1. Fit the door lock complete with internal lock mechanism and central locking system motor.

2. Plug in the connector for the central locking system motor.

3. Fit the bottom edge of the rear guide channel.

4. Press the pull bar onto the lock cylinder.

5. Press the pull bar onto the inside handle.

6. Check the clearance between opening handle and lock.

Note

The clearance should be fairly generous.


7. Fit the water barrier.


8. Fit the door trim. See Service Manual 8:2 "Interior equipment" .
