Replacement of front door window lifts


To remove


1. Open the front door.

2. Remove the door trim. See Service Manual 8:2 "Interior equipment" .

3. Remove the water barrier.

4. Lower the window about 10 cm until the window retainer is visible through the upper holes in the door.


5. Use two strips of tape to fasten the window in the frame.

6. Remove the scissor-lift stay from the window retainer. First release the two clips from the locked position (leave the clips on the bush) and then press the stay out of the bushes while holding the window.


7. Drill out the heads of the four blind rivets and then drive them out of the door panel (8.5 mm bit 4 mm drift).

8. Run the electric motor so that the scissor-lift mechanism occupies as little space as possible.

9. Unplug the electric motor connector.

10. Unscrew the two nuts securing the scissor-lift guide channel and remove the channel.

11. Remove the window lift mechanism.

Note

If the electric motor is unserviceable, tape the window to the frame, drill out the rivets and then lower the window.
