      | 
        Make sure that the heating pad circuit really is inoperative by connecting a buzzer across the backrest's two terminals (black leads in the connector between seat cushion and backrest).

      | 1. | Remove the backrest upholstery,  . It will suffice to go two staple rows up and you need not remove the head restraint or locating sleeves.

      | 2. | Remove the heating pad from the foam padding, using benzine. Exercise care to ensure that large pieces of the padding do not come away.

             Wear protective gloves when using benzine.

      | 3. | Electrically adjustable seat with memory:
       
       Remove the electronic unit,  .

      | 4. | Remove the heating pad wiring. Do this by unplugging the connector and undoing the cable ties.

   Fit in reverse order.

        Make sure that the wiring is fitted in the same position as before, so that it will not be nipped when the seat is adjusted.
