Torque reduction (automatic)
Torque reduction (automatic) |
In connection with upshifting and downshifting, the control module receives signals on pin 51 from pin 13 of the automatic transmission's control module (AF22).
When shifting is carried out in the automatic transmission, the AF22 control module sends a 100 Hz PWM signal to the MOTRONIC control module. Depending on the gears between which shifting takes place, and whether upshifting or downshifting takes place, the AF22 control module can vary the signal times between 0.9 and 9.1 ms.
The MOTRONIC control module then retards the timing according to the signal received so that ignition will take place between -10° and +30°.
If no signal is received, "harder" shifting may be experienced and the life of the transmission will be adversely affected.
