Checking injector flow capacity


Warning

Work only in a well-ventilated area. If approved equipment for the extraction of fuel vapours is available, be sure to use it.



1. Remove the fuel rail with injectors as described in points 1-6 on the previous page.


2. Start the fuel pump by bridging between fuses 4 and 32 using special tool 83 93 886. Check that the injectors are not leaking.

3. Place the injectors one by one over a measuring flask and connect battery voltage to the injector that is to be checked, using cables 86 11 410 and 86 11 345. Activate the injector for exactly 30 seconds and then check whether the quantity of fuel in the measuring flask is 13 ml.


4. Change any defective injectors.

5. Refit the fuel-injection rail and injectors. Be sure to fit the right connectors to the right injectors.
