"READ FUNCTIONS" commandmenu

"READ FUNCTIONS" command menu

Values relating to the different commands are stored in the control module's internal memory. These values are updated continuously, some of them as soon as the ignition switch is turned to the ON position although most of them require the engine to be started. When the engine is switched off the control module stores the most recent value recorded.

This value is displayed next time the ignition switich is turned to the ON position but it is not relevant for commands requiring the engine to be started. The ISAT scan tool will then display an incorrect value.

The ISAT scan tool display texts below are presented in the same order as the commands under READ FUNCTIONS in the ISAT scan tool menu structure.





MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR

Shows the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR's input voltage (control module, pin 7) and the associated intake air flow in grammes per second (g/s). Conversion is carried out according to the characteristics of the mass air flow sensor: g/s = f (V). See "Technical data".

Operating range: 0.0 - 5.0 V.

BATTERY VOLTAGE

Shows the control module's power supply, +15 circuit (control module pin 58).

Operating range: 0.0 - 17.4 V.

COOLANT TEMP

Shows the input voltage (control module pin 78) from the engine coolant temperature sensor and associated temperature in °C. Conversion is carried out according to the coolant temperature sensor's design specs: °C = f(ohm).

Operating range: 0.0 - 5.0 V.

THROTT POS SENSOR

Shows the throttle position sensor's input voltage (control module pin 73) in volts and converted into degrees.

Operating range: 0.0 - 5.0 V and 0.0 - 90 degrees.

ROUGH ROAD SENSOR

Shows the rough road sensor's input voltage (control module pin 80) in volts and the car's vertical acceleration, if any, in g.

Operating range: 0.0 - 5.0 V and 0.0 - 2.5 g.

ENGINE SPEED

Shows engine speed in rpm.

Operating range: 0 - 6550 rpm.

INJECTION DURATION

Shows the injection duration for cylinder 1 in ms.

Operating range: 0.0 - 98.7 ms.

IGNITION TIMING

Shows the ignition timing (dwell angle) for cylinder 1 in degrees before top dead centre (BTDC).

Operating range: 78 - (-144) degrees.

KNOCK CONTROL

X.X DEGREES

Shows the ignition retard in degrees when knocking occurs in cylinder 1.

Operating range: 0 - 128 degrees.

EVAP VALVE

Shows the extent of EVAP canister purge valve opening expressed in %%.

Operating range: 0 - 100%%.

CAR SPEED

XXX km/h

Shows the speed of the car in km/h.

Operating range: 0 - 255 km/h.







ENGINE LOAD SIGNAL

Shows the internal control module quantity, which is proportional to the current engine load.

Operating range: 0 - 12.25 ms.

CALC. AIR MASS

Shows the air flow calculated by the control module that has to pass the IAC valve for attainment of the correct idling speed.

Operating range: 0 - 17 g/s.

ACTUAL AIR MASS

XXX.X g/s

Shows the air flow through the IAC valve (mass air flow sensor value less adapted leakage flow across the throttle butterfly) as measured by the control module.

Operating range: 0 - 17 g/s.

Closed loop

Shows the working range of closed loop control. At limit values, the diagnostic trouble codes "Adaptation lean" and "Adaptation rich" are generated.

Operating range: ±25 %%.

ADDITIVE ADAPTION

Shows the additive fuel injection duration correction. Adaptation takes place at idling speed. Operating range: ± 0.512 ms.

MULTIPL. ADAPTION

Shows the multiplicative fuel injection duration correction. Adaptation takes place while the car is being driven. Operating range: ± 25%%.

OXY SENSOR FRONT

Shows the input voltage (control module pin 12) from the front heated oxygen sensor mounted before the three way catalytic converter. Operating range: 0.00 - 1.25 V. Shows the input voltage (control module pin 39) from the rear heated oxygen sensor mounted after the three way catalytic converter. Operating range: 0.00 - 1.25 V.

FRONT OXYGEN SENSOR

REAR OXYGEN SENSOR

Shows the preheating current (control module pin 37) for the front heated oxygen sensor mounted before the three way catalytic converter. The preheating current is measured internally in the control module via a 0.1 ohm resistor and presented in volts.

Operating range: 0.0 - 1.0 V. Shows the preheating current (control module pin 30) for the rear heated oxygen sensor mounted after the three way catalytic converter. The preheating current is measured internally in the control module via a 0.1 ohm resistor and presented in volts.

Operating range: 0.0 - 1.0 V.

Shows the number of misfires for cylinder 1.

Operating range: 0 - 100 rolling.
