Injectors

To remove


To avoid unnecessary spillage of fuel, the fuel system should be run dry as follows: start the engine and remove fuse 32 while the engine is running. Do not switch off the ignition until the engine has stopped.


1. Take off the engine cover.

2. Disconnect the crankcase breather hose and remove the idle air control valve with hoses.

3. Remove the bracket for the dipstick as well as the throttle and Cruise Control cables.

4. Remove the 2 screws securing the cable conduit and the 2 screws securing the fuel rail.


5. Carefully lift up the fuel rail with injectors. Have some paper or the like handy to absorb the fuel which runs out of the fuel rail and/or injectors.

6. Remove the two retaining rails and unplug the connectors from the injectors.

7. Remove the clips securing the injectors to the fuel rail and withdraw the injectors.


To fit


Fit in reverse order.

Note

Lubricate the O-rings with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to facilitate reassembly.

Important

Check that the right connectors are fitted to the right injectors (the cables are marked).
