The ICE module grounds the seat-belt warning lamp via pin 56 when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. The lamp lights up for 6 seconds, regardless of whether the seat belt is used or not.
Cars for certain markets also have an audible "DING DONG" warning which is activated for 6 seconds when ICE module pin 20 is grounded via the driver's seat-belt buckle switch. If the driver's seat belt is inserted into the buckle before the end of the 6-second period the audible warning will stop.
