Using mobile telephones and communications radio equipment in the Saab 900 and 9000

Background

Mobile telephones and communications radio equipment without a separate external aerial propagate radio waves which are reflected inside the cabin.

The field of electromagnetic waves inside the cabin may be injurious to health.

The field of electromagnetic waves may also cause interference with the car's electrical system.

Procedure

Saab therefore recommends connecting a mobile telephone or communications radio equipment to an external aerial at all times.

In addition, an external aerial ensures better transmission and reception performance as well as a longer range.

From the viewpoint of road safety, it is advisable to stop the car at a suitable place when using a mobile telephone.
