Cars in stock must be rectified before delivery.

Owners of cars already delivered must be informed of the fault by a personal communication requesting them to contact their nearest Saab garage as soon as possible for the necessary repairs.

Cars affected

Saab 900 M1994-M1998 RHD 4-cylinder engines within the following VIN interval:

from R2000001 to W2006450 (3D/5D), inclusive

from S7000001 to W7002906 (CV), inclusive.

Background

The wiring harness on the bulkhead may chafe against an empty weld pin, causing possible damage to the wiring. This may cause interference/malfunction of certain systems.

40 63 681 Tie strap

Procedure


1. Inspect the wiring harness at the specified location and repair if damaged.

2. Fit the tie strap on the empty weld pin, see illustration. Secure the wiring harness with the tie strap.


Marking the modification identity plate

After completing the modification, mark the modification identity plate with a red dot in the upper right corner for M94-M95 and in box C3 for M96-M98. If the modification was carried out by the importer, mark the box with the number “7” and if it was carried out by the dealer, mark the box with the number “8”.
