Solenoid valve SL, for Lock-up
Solenoid valve SL, for Lock-up |
Solenoid valve SL is fitted in the valve housing mounted on the transmission. The solenoid controls the torque converter's lock-up function.
The solenoid is automatically grounded in the transmission during assembly and operates when it is supplied with battery voltage. Solenoid SL is supplied with current via pin 19 of the transmission control module.
The supply of current is controlled by the transmission control module which emits a signal for lock-up engagement or disengagement according to speed, throttle position and the selected driving program.
The lock-up function is inhibited in the following cases: • if an electrical fault occurs so that the limp-home mode is activated • when the brake light switch is closed and the input shaft speed is less than 2,000 rpm • when the accelerator is not depressed (fully released), the car's speed is lower than 125 km/h and the selector lever is in the D position.
The nominal resistance of the solenoid winding is 13 ohms.
