Transmission fluid temperature sensor
Transmission fluid temperature sensor |
The transmission fluid temperature sensor is mounted in the transmission housing and provides the transmission control module with information on the current transmission fluid temperature.
The sensor is of NTC type, that is to say the sensor's integral resistance has negative temperature dependence. This means that its resistance decreases with rising temperature. Through an integral 1K resistor, the transmission control module measures the temperature of the transmission fluid by applying +5 V to the sensor from pin 33.
The sensor is grounded at grounding point G34S, car body ground.
The transmission control module uses the temperature information to calculate gear-shifting points and when to engage the lock-up function.
