Brake disc, rear wheel


Removal


1. Lift the car and take off the back wheel.

2. Press the brake piston back with the help of a pair of grips.

3. Remove the two brake caliper securing bolts. Disconnect the brake pipe from the clip. Take care not to damage the brake pipe when disconnecting it.

4. Bind the brake caliper to the right and side using a cable tie. Fix a welding clamp to the silencer and bind the brake caliper on the left hand side using a cable tie.

5. Release the handbrake adjustment (A).


6. Remove the brake disc securing bolts and take off the brake disc.


Fitting



1. Clean the new brake disk free from oil and dirt.

2. Fit the brake disc, apply Locktite thread locking compound and tighten the securing bolts.

3. Adjust the handbrake shoes. Screw the adjusting nut until the disc blocks it, then unscrew the adjusting nut until the disc is released. This is achieved through a hole in the brake disc with the help of a screw driver.

4. Fit the brake caliper, and tighten the securing bolts using Loctite locking compound.


5. Take away the welding clamp and tie on the left side.

6. Fit the wheels and tighten the wheel studs.

Tightening torque

- light alloy wheels 117 Nm (86.6 lbf ft)

- pressed steel wheels 100 Nm (74 lbf ft)

7. Lower the car and depress the brake pedal to force out the brake pads.

8. Check and if necessary adjust the cable length.
