The upper anchorage point (strap guide) on the B pillar has five different positions for adjusting the height over a range of 94 mm. The advantage of this is that persons of short stature can adjust the belt to prevent it pressing against their neck. The anchorage points for the lap strap and buckle lock are on the seat frame. Consequently, the buckle is always in the same position relative to the seat, regardless of its fore-and-aft adjustment. The buckle lock has a double locking function so that when in the locked position the catch is blocked by a spindle. The spindle is opened by the regular release button. Different versions of the locks may be fitted, with or without an electrical system for the warning function on the dashboard.
