To remove |

Remove:

Soft top assembly. See
|
2. |
Place the soft top on a workbench.
|
3. |
Cut off the cable ties and remove screw A at the reinforcement.
|
4. |
Loosen screw B and move the reinforcement out of the way.
|
5. |
Unplug the electrical connectors.
|
6. |
Remove the four motor retaining screws and lift away the motor.
|
7. |
Press in the lock and remove the bolt.
|
8. |
Unscrew the two retaining screws and remove the ratchet.

To fit |
1. |
Put the ratchet in place and apply threadlocker to the two ratchet retaining screws. Tighten the screws.
|
2. |
Fit the sleeve and press on the bushings, one on each side, in a vice.
Make sure the bevel on the washer is facing the collar on the bushing. |
3. |
Fit the bolt and bend the lock.

4. |
Apply threadlocker to the motor retaining screws and fit the motor to the soft top mechanism.
|
5. |
Reposition the reinforcement and tighten screws A and B.
|
6. |
Plug in the connectors and secure the wires with cable ties so that they will not be damaged when the soft top is operated.

7. |
Put back the side trim. See
|
8. |
Fit the soft top assembly on the car. See
|
9. |
Connect the diagnostic tool, clear any diagnostic trouble codes and then program the control module. See
