Is the ’’ROOF” switch in the centre console defective?

Test the switch using Tech 2, ’’Read Values/Tonneau switch”. Tech 2 should display DOWN when the ROOF switch is pushed backwards.

If Tech 2 does not respond correctly, the current to pin 10 on the switch must be checked. Check the current on pin 4 of the switch unit and pin 42 on K42 when the soft top is opened. Check the current on pin 3 of the switch unit and pin 28 on K42 when the soft top is closed. Check the ground connection on pins 8 and 12 of the switch. Change the switch or repair the wiring harness if necessary.

Defective fuse? (If the TSAS system cannot be contacted with Tech 2, one of the fuses may be defective.)

Check Maxi fuse 5 (under the bonnet). Check fuse no. 7 (+15 circuit) and no. 17 (+54 circuit) in fuse box 22a located on one side of the dashboard.

Investigate the cause of the blown fuse (short to ground, etc.). Rectify the fault and then change the fuse.

Soft top storage up?
Nothing will happen if SID has not been correctly programmed when an attempt is made to lower the soft top while the soft top storage is up and SID will not display any error messages.
