Noise from door window sliding rollers
|
All Saab 900 Convertible M95 - M98.
It is possible for the friction in the sliding rollers to cause a frequent creaking noise on some cars. The sliding rollers should therefore be replaced with new ones with the following part number after customer complaint.
51 13 436 Sliding roller, dark grey (4 pcs./car)

The procedure should be carried out on both left-hand and right-hand door windows .
1.

Remove the door window. See WIS “Convertible”, section “Adjustment/replacement”, “Door windows”.

2.

Lay the window glass on a soft and level surface.
|
3.
|
Remove the sliding rollers. Undo the bolt (grip the nut on the back of the window). Remove the sliding roller.
|
4.
|
Fit the new sliding rollers, part no. 51 13 436. Tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.7 lbf ft).

5.
|
Remove the door window rear guide rail. See WIS “Convertible”, section “Adjustment/replacement”, “Door window rear guide rail”.

6.
|
Wash off all traces of lubricant from inside the guide rail.
Important
|
It is absolutely prohibited to use lubricant inside the guide rail. Lubricant left in the guide rail can actually cause squeaking.

Fit the guide rail. See WIS “Convertible”, section “Adjustment/replacement”, “Door window rear guide rail”.

|
Fit the door window. See WIS “Convertible”, section “Adjustment/replacement”, “Door windows”.
