       1.
       | 
      
       Relieve the belt tensioner of strain, using a ratchet handle extension, and insert a 6 mm drill in the hole as shown. Exercise the utmost care to ensure that the belt tensioner does not break at its end position.

       | 
      
       Raise the car, take off the right-hand front wheel and remove the cover.

      |

       | 
      
       Remove the protective plate and fit flywheel locking segment 83 94 868 on the flywheel ring gear.
        
        
       
         
       
        
       | 
     
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      |

       | 
      
       Remove the crankshaft pulley.
        
        
       
         
       
        
       | 
     
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 
       5.
       | 
      
       Use a screwdriver to break off the old seal.
        
        
       | 
     
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 
       6.
       | 
      
       Fit a new seal, using assembly tool 83 94 876.
        
        
       
         
       
        
       | 
     
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 
       7.
       | 
      
       Fit the crankshaft pulley.
        
        
       
        Tightening torque 175 Nm (129.5 lbf ft).

       | 
      
       Fit the drive belt. Check the position of the belt on all pulleys and fit the cover.

      | 
       9.
       | 
      
       Fit the road wheel.
        
        
       
        Tightening torque 110 Nm (81 lbf ft).
       
        
        
       |

       Lower the car to the floor.

       | 
      
       Relieve the belt tensioner of strain, using a ratchet handle extension, and remove the drill.

       Start the engine and run it at idling speed for a short while. Then switch it off and check that the drive belt is correctly positioned.
