Exhaust manifold rear (B258i)

1.
|
Disconnect the battery's negative cable, disconnect the oxygen sensors' cables, undo the cable clamps and the clips and lift up the car.

2.
|
Unscrew the nuts between the exhaust manifolds and the front exhaust pipe and lower the pipe.
Important
|
There are seals between the exhaust manifolds and the front pipe.
|
|
|
3.
|
Lower the car and undo the upper screws on the exhaust manifolds.
|
4.
|
Raise the car and undo the lower nuts. Lower the exhaust manifold with gasket.
Warning
|
There might be sharp edges on the heat shield.
|
|
|
|
|
|
1.
|
Clean the surfaces and fit the exhaust manifold with a new seal.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
|
2.
|
Feed in the front exhaust pipe and bolt it to the exhaust manifold. Use new gaskets.
Turning torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).
|
3.
|
Bolt together the joint under the car.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
Lower the car to the floor.
|
4.
|
Reconnect the oxygen sensors' cables and fit the cable clamps and the clips.

There might be sharp edges on the heat shield.
