Throttle body


To remove


1. Remove the resonator (air silencer).

2. Disconnect the throttle cable and the Cruise Control cable, if fitted.

3. Unscrew the expansion tank cap to release the pressure in the cooling system.

4. Remove the IAC valve.


5. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.

6. Disconnect other hoses from the throttle body.

7. Remove the throttle position sensor.

8. Remove the four retaining bolts and lift away the throttle body.


To fit



1. Check the condition and positioning of the O-rings.

2. Fit the throttle body and tighten the retaining bolts.

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

3. Fit the throttle position sensor.

4. Check the setting of the throttle butterfly, see illustration. Readjust if necessary by slackening two screws and then moving the bracket in the desired direction.

5. Connect all hoses and the throttle cable. Connect the Cruise Control cable, if fitted.


6. Fit the IAC valve.

7. Fit the resonator (air silencer).

8. Check the operation of the throttle.
