The OBD II diagnostic functions for the EVAP canister purge valve and secondary air injection (SLS) are activated late in the drive cycle. To enable garages and production plants to guarantee that the relevant systems are in perfect working order, "INITIATE" commands can be used to force the control module to carry out diagnosis.
