Camshaft position sensor
Camshaft position sensor |
The camshaft position sensor is of Hall-effect type and integrated into the distributor.
A field rotor fcompression stroke.
Somewhat simplified, it could be said that the camshaft position sensor acts as a switch in the sensor lead connected to the control module and which, depending on the position of the field rotor flange, is either open or closed.
On the basis of information from the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors, the control module can work out when cylinder No. 1 is ready for combustion.
The camshaft position sensor is supplied with power from pin 59 of the control module and is connected to ground at engine grounding point G7S.
The signal, which is a square wave, is sent out from pin 2 and received on pin 44 of the control module.
The voltage alternates between 0 V when the Hall-effect sensor is open and 5 V when it is closed.
