Three-circuit breaking via anti-theft alarm

Three-circuit breaking via anti-theft alarm

An anti-theft alarm is standard equipment on Saab cars fitted with the Motronic 4.1. The power supply for the Motronic 4.1 is routed via the anti-theft alarm.

Three-circuit breaking

A ”3-circuit breaking” function is built into the anti-theft alarm's control module. It takes control of the functions below when the alarm is armed and prevents the engine from being started when the alarm is set off as follows:

The starter relay (517) receives no operating current. The starter relay is supplied with current (+50 circuit) via pin 20 (input signal) and pin 8 (output signal) of the anti-theft alarm's control module. (Cars with automatic transmission are also fitted with a starter interlock (239) function. See ” Automatic transmission OBD II”).

The fuel pump relay receives no operating current. The fuel pump signal goes to the fuel pump relay via pin 21 (input signal) and pin 9 (output signal) of the anti-theft alarm's control module.

The Motronic 4.1 receives no current (+15 circuit). Current (+15 circuit) is supplied to the Motronic 4.1 control module via pin 10 (input signal) and pin 22 (output signal) of the anti-theft alarm's control module.

See Anti-theft alarm .

Circuit connection

Three-circuit breaking is connected in circuit at the same time as the rest of the anti- theft alarm is armed.

Disconnection

Three-circuit breaking is disconnected at the same time as the rest of the anti-theft alarm is disarmed.
