Points to bear in mind when diagnosing
faults

It is not possible to give any general rules for the way fault diagnosis should be
carried out in each individual case. Depending on the fault symptoms and other available
information, a particular method may be best in one situation and unsuitable in another.
However, the following points may serve as guidance when diagnosing faults in the Audio
System.

        1.

        Check that fuses 4, 13 and 9
are intact and live.

        2.

Check the fuse at the rear of the radio.

        3.

Check connector pins for corrosion, slide-out and poorly-crimped connections as
well as for looseness or anything else that may have an adverse effect on conductivity.

        4.

Check that the power supply and ground connections for electrical equipment
are correct.

        5.

Connectors should generally be dismantled and assembled with the ignition in
the OFF position. Resistance measurement should also take-place with the ignition in the
OFF position.
