Seat-belt warning

Note
The seat-belt warning function is active only during the first six seconds after ignition switch-on.

Plug in the scan tool and read any diagnostic trouble codes that may be present. If any trouble codes are present, continue as described on

Select "READ VALUES" from the menu and then "SEAT BELT SWITCH". Read the scan tool display.

Seat belt in - " OFF "

Seat belt not in - " ON "

If this is not the case, unplug the 2-pole connector from the front seat, connect a jumper lead between pins 1 and 2 and repeat point 2.

If the scan tool reading is now correct, the fault is in the seat belt switch. Change the switch.

If this does not work, connect a BOB and check the lead between pin 20 of the ICE module and pin 1 of the 2-pin connector for breaks/shorting.

Also check the ground connection by measuring the resistance between connector pin 2 and a good grounding point.

The resistance should be < 1 ohm.
