Direction indicators

Power is supplied via the fuse for the direction indicators to the direction indicator stalk switch and then to ICE module pins 18 (left-hand) and 19 (right-hand).

The ICE module then sends current pulses from pins 1 (left-hand) and 48 (right-hand) to each of the lamps at a rate of about 90 flashes/minute.

With the switch in position L1 or R1 the left-hand or right-hand direction indicator lamp will be activated as long as the stalk is held in the appropriate position.

In positions L2 and R2 the direction indicators are activated in the same manner, except that they are cancelled automatically when the steering wheel is returned to the straight ahead position.

Repeater lamps 47H (left-hand) and 47I (right-hand) in the main instrument display panel flash in time with the direction indicators on either side.

The direction indicators on a trailer are supplied with power via connector 258 (H8-5).

If any of the front or rear direction indicator lamps fails, the load on the circuit will be lower than normal and the lamps will flash at twice the normal frequency.

When the direction indicators are activated, an audible "TICK TACK" sound should be made by the SID unit.

The sound is synchronized with the flashing.
