    Diagnostic procedure

    1 Check fuse 23

2 Check operation of the horn.

      | - | Connect the ISAT scan tool.

 |

   Is horn function correct?

    Continue with point 6.

    Continue with point 3.

3 Check the horn's power supply

      | - | Connect the test lamp to the two 1-pin horn connectors.

 |

      | - | Repeat scan tool command as point 2.

 |

When "ON" is selected, the test lamp should light.

    Is the test lamp on?

     Change the horn.

     Continue with point 4.

    4 Check the horn's +30 power supply

Connect the test lamp across the between the 1-pin horn connector, with the red lead, and a good grounding point.

   The test lamp should light.

    Is the test lamp on?

     Continue with point 5.

Check circuit continuity, including the wiring between pin 1 of the connector and fuse 23.

5 Check the horn's ground connection

      | - | Control module, pin 11 grounds the horn when it is activated.

 |

      | - | Check the continuity of the wiring harness between the horn's 1-pin connector with the black lead and control module pin 11.

 |

The resistance should be < 1 ohm.

    Is the resistance correct?

     Continue with point 6.

Repair or replace the wiring harness.

6 Check the generation of the diagnostic trouble code

Erase the diagnostic trouble code, test drive the car and check to see if the diagnostic trouble code is re-registered.

    Is the DTC being registered?
