    Diagnostic procedure
   
   
    1 Check the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp
   
   
  
  
   
   
  
  
  
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Open and close one door at a time, observing the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp in the main instrument display panel. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Repeat the process for all doors. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
  
   Is the indicator lamp working correctly?
  
  
  
   
    Continue with point 4.
    
    
   
  
  
  
  
   
    Continue with point 2.
    
    
   
  
  
  
   2 Check diagnostic trouble codes in ICE
  
  
  
   
   
  
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Connect the ISAT scan tool. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Select "READ FAULT CODES". 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Check whether diagnostic trouble code B1437, "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp shorted to Batt+, is stored. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
  
   Is the DTC present?
  
  
  
   
    Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system "ICE".
    
    
   
  
  
  
  
   
    Continue with point 3.
    
    
   
  
  
  
   3 Check the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp
  
  
  
   
   
  
  
  
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Select "ACT.INSTR.FUNCT". 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Select "DOOR INDIC.LAMP". 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
  
   By selecting "ON" and "OFF", the above command controls the "DOOR OPEN" indicator lamp.
   
   
   
    Does the indicator lamp come on when activated?
   
   
   
    
     Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system "ICE", checking door switches. If the indicator lamp remains on continuously, proceed to point 5 after checking other parts as above.
     
     
    
   
   
   
   
    
     Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system "ICE" or "MIU".
     
     
    
   
   
   
    4 Check the operation of the door switches
   
   
  
  
   
   
  
  
  
   
  
  
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Select "PASSENGER DOOR". 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Open and close one door at a time while observing the ISAT scan tool display. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Repeat the process for all doors. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
  
   Is ISAT indicating correctly?
  
  
  
   
    Continue with point 6.
    
    
   
  
  
  
  
   
    Continue with point 5.
    
    
   
  
  
  
   5 Check the wiring connected to the electronic control module
  
  
  
   Check the wiring harness for continuity between pin 8 of connector H33-3 and pin 4 of the electronic control module.
   
   
  
  
   The resistance should be < 1 ohm.
   
   
   
    Is the resistance correct?
   
   
   
    
     Continue with point 6.
     
     
    
   
   
   
   
    
     Repair or replace the wiring harness.
     
     
    
   
   
   
    6 Final check
   
  
  
   Check to see if the fault symptom remains.
   
   
   
    Is the problem still present?
   
   
   
    
     See "Before replacing a control module".
     
     
    
   
   
   
   
    
     The remedial measures taken were correct or the fault is of intermittent nature.
