Replacing wiring harness in tailgate

Remove the tailgate trim, luggage compartment side trim and trim on the C-pillar.

The connector behind the left wheel housing must be removed from the cable in order to extract the cable through the opening in the roof.
The connector on the new cable must also be removed.

Mark all the cables and connectors carefully before separating them.
|

|
Loosen the cable grommet from the roof by pulling down the headlining slightly on the left-hand side and releasing the catches (3 pcs.) on the rubber grommet from the inside. Pull out the wiring harness from the cabin through the opening in the roof.

When fitting the new wiring harness and attaching the connector behind the left wheel housing:
Check the pin colour codes and lead codes carefully against the wiring diagrams in Service Manual "3:2 Electrical system, Wiring diagrams".

Secure the wiring harness in a suitable way to prevent rattling!
