In connection with manufacture the gearbox is filled with oil and after that does not need any oil-changes. In spite of this the gearbox is equipped with three plugs: one filling, one level and one draining plug. The plugs are used during work on the gearbox when the oil is drained. When the level is being checked after refilling the level plug is removed and oil poured in until it comes out of the level plug hole. Note that the draining plug (the bottom one) contains a magnet. When being refitted, the plugs should be coated with a thread sealing liquid.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 lbf ft)
