Bleeding the brake system

Unscrew the cover of the brake fluid reservoir and top up with brake fluid.

Connect the topping-up unit (supplied in brake bleeding kit 88 19 096) to the brake fluid reservoir. Position a hose with one end in the topping up unit and the other in a bottle filled with new brake fluid.

|
Lift the car. Connect the brake bleeder hose to the front left wheel and open the nipple. Draw off approx. 0.1 litres of brake fluid.

4.

Move the brake bleeder to the front right wheel and open the nipple. Draw off approx. 0.1 litres of brake fluid.

5.
|
Move the brake bleeder to the rear left wheel and open the nipple. Draw off approx. 0.05 litres of brake fluid.

6.
|
Move the brake bleeder to the rear right wheel and open the nipple. Draw off approx. 0.05 litres of brake fluid.

7.
|
Lower the car. Check the brake operation. Depress the brake pedal and check that it does not sink.

8.
|
Remove the topping-up unit, hose and bottle.
|
9.
|
Adjust the brake fluid level.
