Rear seat
Rear seat |
The backrest of the 60%% section is mounted on a member in which are integrated the brackets for the head restraints, the locking mechanisms for the backrests and the seat belts. The sheet-metal frames of both seat cushions incorporate functions for improved side collision and submarining protection.
To increase cargo space, the seat cushion and backrest can be folded forward in two different ways:
• |
The 40%% seat is first folded forward, and then the locked 40%% backrest is released from the seat-belt member and tilted forward.
|
• |
The 40%% and 60%% seats are both folded forward, and then the locked seat-belt member is released and folded forward together with the 40%% and 60%% backrests.
To reduce the risk of the backrest being incorrectly locked, the catches are fitted with an indicator to show if they are not properly engaged. As optional equipment, one or both rear seats can be fitted with an integrated child safety seat. This consists of a seat section which folds down from the backrest. It is so designed that the child is seated at the correct height for using the seat belt. When the child seat is lowered, the curvature of the backrest is increased and provides additional side support. |
