Sound insulation, luggage compartment
Saab 9-5 up to and including chassis number W3052940. Refer also to the specification of chassis number intervals under the relevant procedure.
New sound insulation between the inner and outer plates on the left and right sides of the luggage compartment has been developed as a quality improvement. The new sound insulation is enclosed in plastic.
On certain cars, the sound insulation on the right-hand side is missing completely, resulting in excessive road noise.
50 31 455 Sound insulation, LH (1 pc.)
50 32 727 Sound insulation, RH (1 pc.)
46 02 785 Sound absorbent, RH (1 pc.), required on certain cars only

On certain cars, the sound absorbent, part no. 46 02 785, in front it must also be removed if it is the longer version. (The longer sound absorbent version prevents sound insulation 50 32 727 from being positioned correctly.)

7.
Fit the new sound insulation, part no. 50 32 727, on the right-hand side. Be sure to turn it the right way round and do not fit it too far forward. Press the plastic recess in the sound insulation and make sure that it is not close up against the filler cap lock. Make sure it fits tight against the inner and outer plates.
8.
Pull in the handle for the filler cap emergency opening through the side trim.
9.
Fit the side trim and safety net, if fitted. Do not fit the scuff plate yet if the sound insulation on the left-hand side is to be replaced as well.
