Read the instructions below then start the fault diagnostic procedure.

Symptom: CHECK ENGINE lamp on. Not possible to control engine speed. Idling set to 1400 rpm.

P0223 Pedal Position Sensor Circuit 2. Short to B+.


Fault symptoms


• CHECK ENGINE lamp on.

• Not possible to control engine speed.

• Idling set to 1400 rpm.


Conditions

The following conditions apply for this DTC:


• Signal on control module sensor input more than 2.5V for more than 0.3 seconds.

Fault criteria not fulfilled for P1636 or P1637.


Diagnostic help

Same supply voltage as the atmospheric pressure sensor. The position of the pedal position sensor can be read with the diagnostic tool.

Note

A fault in the control module female connector can cause a trouble code. Check the contact for a bent pin, oxidation and tightness of pins. See Difficult faults in PSG16 despite trouble code
