There is a new stay on the steering wheel member by the passenger airbag module. The air duct to the passenger-side air vent can chafe against this new stay.
In case of complaints from customers, proceed as follows.
Symptom description
The vanes in the air vent rattle. The noise is produced by the air duct chafing against the stay.
45 12 380 Felt tape, 20x80 mm, sufficient for 2 cars. (Split in half, 20x40 mm required per car)

Remove the glove compartment. Refer to WIS, Body - Interior equipment - Adjustment/Replacement - Glove box - To remove.

Remove the air duct from the pipe end of the fresh-air outlet.
|
|
3.
|
Wrap the felt tape, 20x40 mm, around the end of the stay.
|
|
4.
|
Fit the air duct to the fresh-air outlet and check the function of the damper and air vent joystick.
|
|
5.
|
Fit the glove compartment. Refer to WIS, Body - Interior equipment - Adjustment/Replacement - Glove box - To fit.
