Front crankshaft seal

| To remove | 
| 1. | Raise the car and remove the front right wheel. | |
| 2. | Remove the lower engine cover and drive belt cover.   | |
| 3. | Mark the direction of rotation, take the tension off the belt tensioner and remove the multigroove belt.   | |
| 4. | Remove the crankshaft pulley using
        
         83 95 360 Support, crankshaft pulley
        
        . | |
| 5. | Prise out the seal using a screwdriver without damaging the sealing surfaces.   | |
| To fit | 
| 1. | Clean the sealing surfaces. | |
| 2. | Lubricate the new sea with non-acidic Vaseline and position it on
        
         83 95 410 Assembly tool, front crankshaft seal
        
        .   | |
| 3. | Position the seal with the protective collar and assembly tool on the crankshaft. Pull in the seal until it is flush with the timing cover using the crankshaft pulley bolt. | |
| 4. | Fit the crankshaft pulley with a new bolt. Use
        
         83 95 360 Support, crankshaft pulley
        
        . Tightening torque: 150 Nm + 45° (111 lbf ft + 45°)   | |
| 5. | Fit the multigroove belt and check its location on all pulleys. | |
| 6. | Fit the drive belt cover and the lower engine cover.   | |
| 7. | Fit the wheel
        
        . | |
| 8. | Lower the car, check the engine oil level and top up as necessary. | |
