Circuit/System Verification |
Circuit/System Testing |
1. |
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear Exterior or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear Exterior. |
2. |
Ignition ON, verify the following scan tool parameter is Inactive: |
• |
Left rear door: Exterior Left Rear Door Handle Switch |
• |
Right rear door: Exterior Right Rear Door Handle Switch |
3. |
If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal replace the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module. |
4. |
Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 2 and ground circuit terminal 1. Verify the following scan tool parameter is Active. |
• |
Left rear door: Exterior Left Rear Door Handle Switch |
• |
Right rear door: Exterior Right Rear Door Handle Switch |
5. |
If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module. |
6. |
If all circuits test normal, test or replace the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear Exterior or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear Exterior. |
Component Testing |
1. |
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear Exterior or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear Exterior. |
2. |
With the switch in the open position, test for infinite resistance between the signal terminal 2 and the ground terminal 1. |
3. |
If not the specified value, replace the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear Exterior or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear Exterior. |
4. |
With the switch in the closed position, test for less than 5 Ω between the signal terminal 2 and the ground terminal 1 |
5. |
If greater than the specified range, replace the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear Exterior or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear Exterior. |
