Circuit/System Verification |
1. |
Ignition ON, check the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information with a scan tool. DTC P2146 or P2149 are not set. |
2. |
If any DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle. |
3. |
Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records Data List. |
Circuit/System Testing |
1. |
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the affected fuel injector. |
2. |
Ignition ON, test for 5.8-7.8 V between the low control circuit terminal 2 and ground. |
3. |
If less than the specified range, test the low control circuit for an open/high resistance or for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module. |
4. |
If greater than the specified range, test the low control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module. |
5. |
Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the affected fuel injector low control circuit terminal 1 and ground. |
6. |
Engine cranking or running, the test lamp should illuminate or flash. |
7. |
If the test lamp does not illuminate or flash, replace the K20 Engine Control Module. |
8. |
If all circuits test normal, test or replace the affected fuel injector. |
Component Testing |
1. |
Disconnect the harness connector at the affected fuel injector. |
2. |
Test for 0.2-0.7 Ω between the low control terminal 2 and the high control terminal 1. |
3. |
If not within the specified range, replace the fuel injector. |
4. |
Test for infinite resistance between each terminal and ground. |
5. |
If not the specified value, replace the fuel injector. |
