Circuit/System Testing |
1. |
Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the K40 Seat Memory Control Module. |
2. |
Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 5 and ground. |
3. |
If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
4. |
Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K40 Seat Memory Control Module. |
5. |
Test for 1.4-2.5 Ω between terminal 11 and terminal 6. |
6. |
If less than the specified range, test for a short between the control circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the E14A Seat Heating Element - Driver Back or E14B Seat Heating Element - Driver Cushion. |
7. |
If the value greater than the specified range, test the control circuits for an open circuit/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the E14A Seat Heating Element - Driver Back or E14B Seat Heating Element - Driver Cushion. |
8. |
If all circuits test normal, replace the K40 Seat Memory Control Module. |

Test for 1.4-2.5 Ω between terminal 10 and terminal 4. |
6. |
If less than the specified range, test for a short between the control circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the E14C Seat Heating Element - Passenger Back or E14D Seat Heating Element - Passenger Cushion. |
7. |
If the value greater than the specified range, test the control circuits for an open circuit/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the E14C Seat Heating Element - Passenger Back or E14D Seat Heating Element - Passenger Cushion. |
8. |
If all circuits test normal, replace the K40 Seat Memory Control Module. |
Component Testing |
Note | ||
Element resistance must be measured twice to ensure that all malfunction conditions are simulated. First with the seat unoccupied, then with the seat occupied. |
