TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT

Remove the radiator fan and air conditioner fan. ,
Shield the radiator from any damage using cardboard and blanket.
Remove the V-belt cover.
Remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner.
To lock the crankshaft, use ST. Remove the pulley bolt.
ST 32005163 CRANK PULLEY WRENCH
Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Remove the left side belt cover.
Remove the front timing belt cover.
Remove the timing belt guide. (MT model)
Turn the crankshaft and align alignment marks on crankshaft, and right and left camshaft sprockets with notches of belt cover and cylinder block.

Remove the belt idler.
Remove the belt idler (No. 2).
Remove the timing belt.
Remove the automatic belt tension adjuster assembly.
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Protect the radiator with cardboard and blanket.
Remove the V-belts.
Remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner.
Remove the pulley bolt. To lock the crankshaft use ST.
ST 32005164 CRANK PULLEY WRENCH
Remove the crank pulley.
Remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner.
Remove the belt cover (LH).
Remove the belt cover (RH).
Remove the front belt cover.
Remove the timing belt guide. (MT model)
Turn the crankshaft and align alignment marks on crankshaft, and right and left cam sprockets with notches of belt cover and cylinder block. To turn the crankshaft, use ST.

Remove the timing belt.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

When installing the timing belt, be sure to align all alignment marks on the belt with corresponding marks on the sprockets. If incorrectly installed, interference between pistons and valves may occur. |
