Remove the V-belt cover.

FRONT SIDE BELT (FOR POWER STEERING OIL PUMP AND GENERATOR) |

Wipe off any oil or water on the belt and pulley. |
Loosen the lock bolt (A).
Loosen the slider bolt (B).
Remove the front side belt (C).
Install a new belt, and tighten the slider bolt so as to obtain the specified belt tension.
Tighten the lock bolt (A).
Tighten the slider bolt (B).
Tightening torque:
Lock bolt:
25 Nm (2.5 kgf-m, 18 ft-lb)Slider bolt:
8 Nm (0.8 kgf-m, 5.8 ft-lb)Stop the engine, and then check the belt tension and adjust it. (With using tension gauge)
Idle the engine for approx. 1 min. to normalize the V-belt. (With using tension gauge)
Stop the engine, and then check the belt tension is within specified value. (With using tension gauge)
Adjust the belt tension until the value within specification. (With using tension gauge)
REAR SIDE BELT (FOR A/C) |

Wipe off any oil or water on the belt and pulley. |
Remove the front side belt.
Loosen the lock nut (A).
Loosen the slider bolt (B).
Remove the rear side belt.
Install a new belt, and tighten the slider bolt so as to obtain the specified belt tension.
Tighten the lock nut (A).
Install the front side belt.

Tightening torque:
23 Nm (2.3 kgf-m, 17.0 ft-lb)
Idle the engine for approx. 5 min. to normalize the V-belt. (With using tension gauge)
Stop the engine, and then check the belt tension and adjust it. (With using tension gauge)
Idle the engine for approx. 1 min. to normalize the V-belt. (With using tension gauge)
Stop the engine, and then check the belt tension is within specified value. (With using tension gauge)
Adjust the belt tension until the value within specification. (With using tension gauge)
