DTC P0503 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR INTERMITTENT/ERRATIC/HIGH

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:


• Immediately at fault recognition

• GENERAL DESCRIPTION


Important

After repair or replacement of faulty parts, conduct Clear Memory Mode and Inspection Mode .


WIRING DIAGRAM:


CHECK TRANSMISSION TYPE.

Is the transmission type AT?

Yes


No


CHECK DTC P0720 ON DISPLAY.

Does the Vehicle Diagnostic Interface or OBD-II general scan tool indicate DTC P0720?

Yes

Check the front vehicle speed sensor signal circuit.


No


CHECK SPEEDOMETER OPERATION IN COMBINATION METER.

Does the speedometer operate normally?

Yes


No

Check the speedometer.


CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR.

Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

Disconnect the connector from combination meter.

Measure the resistance between ECM and combination meter.

Connector & terminal

(B134) No. 1 — (i11) No. 2:

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

Yes

Repair the poor contact in ECM connector.


No

• Repair the harness and connector.

•
Note

In this case, repair the following:

• Open circuit in harness between ECM and combination meter connector

• Poor contact in ECM connector

• Poor contact in combination meter connector

• Poor contact in coupling connector
