Make provision for good ventilation! If approved ventilation for extracting fuel fumes is available then it must be used.

Use protective gloves! Prolonged contact with fuel may irritate the skin.
|

Keep a class BE fire extinguisher close at hand! Watch out for sparks, e.g. in connection with breaking electric circuits, short-circuits, etc.

• |
Smoking is absolutely forbidden.
|
To remove |
1. |
Raise the car and place a receptacle under the fuel filter container.
|
2. |
Remove the protective cover in front of the fuel filter and carefully tap the filter container away from its mounting. Use a drift.
|
3. |
Lift down the filter container.
|
4. |
Carefully pinch together the soft part of the fuel hoses with hose clamp pliers 30 07 739.
|
5. |
Undo the drain plug in the bottom of the fuel filter container and the top screw of the filter cup and empty the filter.

6. |
Undo the top screw completely and remove the filter together with the filter cup.
|
7. |
Dismantle the filter and clean the filter cup.

To fit |
Important | ||
Replace the seals before fitting them. |

Fit the filter in the filter cup.
|
2. |
Refit the filter cup and filter, see the illustration.
|
4. |
Fit the protective cover and lower the car.
|
5. |
Start the engine and check the integrity of the system.
If the engine stalls due to air in the fuel system, the system must be bled. |
