Checking injector flow capacity

Warning

|
Work only in a well-ventilated area! If approved equipment for the extraction of fuel vapours is available, be sure to use it.
|
|
Wear suitable gloves! Prolonged contact with fuel can cause skin irritation or dermatitis.
|
|
Keep a class BE fire extinguisher close at hand! Beware of sparks caused by short circuits and when connecting and disconnecting leads in electrical circuits.

|
Smoking is strictly forbidden!

Start the fuel pump by connecting a jumper lead between fuses 4 and 32.
Make sure the injectors do not leak.
|
|

Place the injectors in turn over a measuring cylinder and connect the injector to be tested to battery voltage using cables 86 11 410 and 86 11 345.
Activate the injector for exactly 30 seconds. Check that the amount of fuel in the measuring cylinder is 126 ± 5 ml.

Change any faulty injectors. Take care to plug in the correct connectors to the correct injectors.
