Gear shifting, N-D and N-R

Gear shifting, N-D and N-R

Shifting N-D

When changing the selector lever position from N to D, the transmission will temporarily shift to 3rd gear so that shifting is performed as smoothly as possible.

This gear-shifting compensation is carried out on condition that:

1. The brake light switch is activated

2. The throttle valve is closed

3. Shifting is from N to D

4. The vehicle speed is below 5 km/h

5. The shifting program selected is NORMAL or SPORT.

Shifting N-D and N-R

When the selector lever is moved to position 1, 2, 3 or D from P, R or N, or to R from any other position, the control module will send a signal to the engine management system to retard the ignition, reducing the engine torque to minimize jerky shifting.

This takes place on condition that the throttle valve opening position is less than 20%.
