Dismantling the master cylinder

To dismantle



1. Remove the master cylinder, see .

2. Clean away dirt from the master cylinder and place it in a vice.

3. Remove the circlip.

4. Remove the primary piston and the seals from the cylinder.

5. Remove the blanking-off washer and the locking pin.

6. Pull the secondary piston out of the cylinder.


Assembling



1. Clean the cylinder bore.

2. Rinse the cylinder and blow it clean.

3. Make sure dirt is not obstructing the vent holes.

4. Lubricate the seals with brake fluid.

5. Press the secondary piston into the cylinder, fit the locking pin and put the blanking-off washer in place.

6. Press the primary piston with seals into the cylinder.

7. Fit the circlip.

8. Press the brake fluid reservoir in place on the master cylinder.

9. Mount the master cylinder on the brake servo unit
