The master cylinder on the Viggen cannot be reconditioned and must be changed if it causes trouble. |
| To dismantle |
| 1. |
Remove the master cylinder, see
.

| 2. |
Clean away dirt from the master cylinder and place it in a vice.
|
|
| 3. |
Remove the circlip.
|
|
| 4. |
Remove the primary piston and the seals from the cylinder.
|
|
| 5. |
Remove the blanking-off washer and the locking pin.
|
|
| 6. |
Pull the secondary piston out of the cylinder.

| Assembling |
| 1. |
Clean the cylinder bore.
|
|
| 2. |
Rinse the cylinder and blow it clean.
|
|
| 3. |
Make sure dirt is not obstructing the vent holes.
|
|
| 4. |
Lubricate the seals with brake fluid.
|
|
| 5. |
Press the secondary piston into the cylinder, fit the locking pin and put the blanking-off washer in place.
|
|
| 6. |
Press the primary piston with seals into the cylinder.
|
|
| 7. |
Fit the circlip.
|
|
| 8. |
Press the brake fluid reservoir in place on the master cylinder.

Mount the master cylinder on the brake servo unit
